Screw’d is finally in the Oreo era. Over the past few months we have been bending over backwards, collaborating with other dev teams bringing up devices for Oreo. Sadly to say not all of our Nexus brothers have made it over yet, if they’ll make it at all. So far the only Nexus devices successfully brought up to Oreo are the Nexus 6P (angler) and the Nexus 5X (bullhead). As far as Pixels go, neither of the original models of the Pixels function yet on AOSP based Oreo. Not saying that it’s hopeless, but devs need more time with it. The Nexus 6 (shamu) has been brought up for other dev teams, we just want a bit more testing with it so its still in the works. The Nexus 5 (hammerhead) is still being worked on, but I’m sorry to say that it’s on it’s last legs. Sorry to say that the Nexus 7 2013 (flo) may be done and may not see Oreo.
But the show must go on. This go around we’re starting out of the gate supporting OnePlus devices such as OnePlus 5 (cheeseburger) and OnePlus 3/3t (oneplus3) on our o-caf branches. (Oh yeah, we’re doing CAF devices now if you haven’t heard.) Now what this means for the non-Nexus/Pixel guys is that you need to understand that we’re not supporting every device under the sun. We’re damn sure aren’t going to start supporting any device just because Lineage or RR or (insert other ROM name here) supports it. If you want Screw’d for your device so badly, learn how to build and build it yourself. Now that we have a basic CAF structure going, it’s not too hard if you know what you’re doing. Don’t come asking us “Can you plz build kenzo?” or any other device that we don’t support because it won’t happen.
The github is ready for anyone to compile any supported devices. More device support may soon follow. Also, a note for OP device builds. We’re currently not supporting encryption, so if you’re going to flash a Screw’d build, it would behoove you to be fully decrypted prior, to avoid any bootloops and/or loss of data. (Yeah, that happened once or twice during testing.)
BETA builds coming soon….and it would also behoove you to join the Telegram group for updates and special secret builds that might be released by myself or maintainers. Screw’d can be compiled under both the ‘o’ and ‘o-caf’ branches for those feeling adventurous. Obviously use the ‘o’ branch for angler, bullhead, etc. And use ‘o-caf’ for oneplus3 and cheeseburger.
